After Care
Dermal Fillers
Apply a cold pack as needed for 15 minutes per hour for discomfort (when full sensation of area has returned)
Avoid excessive touching or massaging the treated area for 1 week
Avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours (can increase filler breakdown)
Avoid ibuprofen, aspirin, and fish oil, Vitamin E for 24 hours unless advised to take by a doctor (can increase risk of bruising)
Avoid hot food for 1 hour after your treatment (lip filler only)
Avoid drinking from a straw and aggressively kissing (can increase swelling)
Avoid extensive sun/heat exposure for 7 days
Avoid saunas for 1 week
Avoid applying makeup to the treated area for 24 hours (can increase risk of infection)
Avoid excess alcohol for 12 hours (can increase risk of bruising)
Use paracetamol for discomfort
Avoid further facial procedure (including dental) for 2 weeks after your treatment unless medically indicated
If possible sleep with head elevated (first night only)
Lumps and bumps are normal for 2 weeks post lip treatments as the filler settles in and adheres to the surrounding soft tissues, if lumps persist after this time try firm massage
Anti-wrinkle Injections
Do not ice the treated area
Stay upright for 4 hours (can increase chance of medication dispersing)
Avoid touching or massaging for 6 hours (can increase the chance of medication dispersing)
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours
Avoid excess alcohol consumption for 12 hours (can increase risk of bruising)
Avoid ibuprofen, aspirin, and fish oil for 24 hours unless advised by a doctor (can increase risk of bruising)
Avoid sleeping on your face the first night
No massaging or firm pressure on the treated area for 1 week
Avoid any facial treatments (facials, dermabrasion) for 2 weeks
Avoid applying makeup to the treated area for 12 hours (can increase risk of infection)
Use paracetamol for discomfort
Allow 2 weeks for full effect
Skin Needling
Avoid SPF & make-up 24 hours post-treatment - mineral make-up is ok!
No intensive exercise/sweating for 24 hours post-treatment
Avoid excessive heat (saunas, spas, steam) for 24 hours post-treatment
Use a freshly cleaned pillowcase post-treatment
Avoid applying ice to the treated area or taking anti-inflammatory medications post-treatment.
This will allow your skin to proceed with its natural wound-healing response
You may experience some dry & flaking skin post-treatment - Do not scratch, pick or pull at your skin
Avoid any skincare products containing retinoids, vitamin C, AHA's, & BHA's for five days post-treatment
